ANTHROPIC CEO: WITHOUT HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS IN REVENUE, AI COMPANIES COULD FACE EXISTENTIAL RISK
Many users dismissed Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei's warning that AI firms face existential risk without massive revenue as fear-mongering PR meant to attract investors and hype.

Can someone please reel this guy in? Walking PR disaster. "Hey we are going to automate your jobs. Hey we are going to pull back and secretly have the models try to trick you to stop you from catching up. Hey we need billions of your dollars" stfu lol
ANTHROPIC CEO: WITHOUT HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS IN REVENUE, AI COMPANIES COULD FACE EXISTENTIAL RISK
Once again the boy who cried wolf, Dario is at it again. Meanwhile in a note part of the world they put out open source on almost no budget.
Perhaps he can stop with this form of marketing?

@yacineMTB @somewheresy Really makes it hard to want them to survive

@Big_Perfect669 Indeed. And the substance of his marketing is hurting all AI companies.

@BrianRoemmele You are clueless about this issue - time to unfollow you

@yacineMTB @Cernovich Fear monger.

@BrianRoemmele critique hits harder when it focuses on substance not personality or noise

@yacineMTB People are realizing that Dario and Sam are goofs. They do well in the VC world where everyone trades in fairy tales.
But once they step out of their fantasy-world and into reality, all their superpowers go away.
These companies likely won't even make it to the IPO.

@yacineMTB It’s almost as if it was Claude whispering their communication strategy the whole time. 👀

@yacineMTB how come u never suspect he knows something u don’t when u see him behaving in a way that’s foreign to ur strategy schemas

@yacineMTB Anthropic: ‘Our next model is going to exterminate the whole human race.’ How to speedrun the company off a cliff. They should ask Fable if this is a good PR strategy for the company if they can’t figure it out by now.

@yacineMTB He’s a dweeb

@yacineMTB @Cernovich “Hey we developed a cyber weapon and you should regulate us. But we’ll tell you how.” That guy is the worst.

@yacineMTB You think he's always been like that or do you think he's losing his mind?
I really actually wonder if he actually has AI psychosis.

@yacineMTB But then being surprised when the government steps in

He’s a real one, I’ve watched a ton of videos and interviews now. This guy is genuinely one of the realist, he’s no PR guy but he’s quite literally a real human-being with deep concerns on safety and is ahead of the incoming fight that will control powerful AI. Which undoubtably the government will soon control.

@yacineMTB He confuses being famous with being loved. Many such cases.

@BrianRoemmele Fear monger.

@yacineMTB This probably taken out of context

@yacineMTB I hear the concerns, but blanket fear ignores the potential for new roles and productivity gains.
